Mr.
Nguyen Duc Thanh has been Founder and Director of the Vietnam Institute for Economic and
Policy Research (VEPR), University of Economics and Business (UEB), Vietnam
National University, Hanoi, Vietnam since 2008.
His main research interests
are Macroeconomics, Macroeconomic Policy, Economic Growth and Structural
Change, Dynamics of Migration and the Brain Drain, Computable General
Equilibrium Modeling. He was head of Research and Cooperation, Centre for
Development Economics and Public Policy (CDEPP), National Economics University,
Hanoi, Vietnam from May to July 2007.
Since October 2011 he has
been the member of the Vietnam Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Group.
Mr. Thanh was born in 1977. He holds his Master’s Degree in Development
Economics from The Vietnam-Netherlands
Project for Master’s Program in Development Economics, Institute of Social
Studies, Netherlands & National Economics University, Vietnam in 2001 and
his Phd’s Degree in Development Economics in the National Graduate Institute
for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan in 2008.
